I’ve always wanted to travel since I was really little. My grandmother traveled quite a bit throughout my childhood and she would bring me back trinkets and tee shirts from around the world. I wanted to see the places in her photographs and experience the wonders in her stories. I can remember sitting in the car at around four-years-old and thinking that I wanted to put my footprint on every inch of the Earth, but my family didn’t have the financial means to travel.
Today, since I’ve talked about historical Christmas, my own traditions, and my Yule traditions, I thought I’d take a day to tell you all what this all means to me. Why is Christmas special to me? I’ve been thinking about it a lot this year being in a new place and having new traditions, both from my future in-laws and ones that Josie and I created together. I felt more Christmas spirit this past year than I have in a while and I think that’s because I’ve really taken a moment to ask myself which traditions mean more to me and which can change.

I’ve had so much fun exploring different Christmas traditions this year and reevaluating my own traditions and view of the world. So many of these little moments have left me in awe of the world around me and fascinated to know more about people and cultures and the history around me.
