Sorry I didn’t post all week. I literally had a week-long migraine and it was all my energy just to go to my day job. Yay chronic illness. In other housekeeping news, I started working on my WIP again and I’m about halfway through the first draft so hopefully, in the near future, you all will have my debut novel in your hands! *crosses fingers that the muse stays with me* I’m also doing a major blog redesign and organization over the next few months so if it seems like things are moving around and changing, just be patient with me!
Now on to the actual planner post (although I feel planner posts are the perfect space to do housekeeping because it’s all organization!)
This month I’m going to do it… I’m showing you my BuJos (yes I have multiples).
For my day to day planner that I talked about back in January, I really like an already established book of dates and things. I’m also very picky about what it looks like on the inside. However, being a novelist, cosplayer, blogger, reader, and overall planner and busy #girlboss makes my brain feels very cluttered in a way that normal planners don’t always fix (even if I customize them to the maximum!) For that reason I keep a wall calendar at my desk at work (It’s the Disney Thomas Kinkade calendar!) for quick glances. I keep my Google calendar on my phone for audio reminders of appointments and tasks. And I keep two bullet journals.
There’s no particular reason why I have two other than one has the date thingies at the top and the other I prefer for no actual reason other than the cover is very soft (and I put rose gold washi tape on it so it matches the rest of my life.)
I am a very confusing person in one specific way. I am hyper-organized, but also messy as f***! Buy this I mean my entire life is organized chaos because I am both a type A personality perfectionist and a creative person who hate things to be symmetrical. Because my craft room/ office is an absolute mess, my altar looks like a mess (but it’s not everything has a place), and my brain is equally chaotic I need to keep 5 planners just to make sure I’m not forgetting anything important. And they are all color-coded chaotic messes that are also hyper-organized because I’m an enigma.
As a writer, I’ve also always carried pocket notebooks. I think my earliest one was in middle school and I always had like three for different topics, but none of the topics stayed in their own journals because my brain doesn’t work like that. That is another reason why I have two bullet journals. Some of the pages in them are exactly the same. I have no explanation for this.
Some things I track in these journals include doctors contact info and medical notes, blog post ideas, to read lists, to watch lists, novel ideas/ scenes (though I’ve taken to using a legal pad at my desk for those), food planning, and a ton more.
Oh, and both bullet journals are Disney themed.
Long story short, I’m an organized mess who hopes that this post made some sort of sense to you all! I know my SEO widget will yell at me for the writing on this one, but I was kind of in the mood for a chattier post.
Thank you all for sticking with me and if you’re new welcome to my little corner of the internet!
