January 2019 Planner Post

Hi dreamers!

I’ve seen people do planner posts in all sorts of blog circles and as someone who keeps literally 4 planners I felt like I should do this!

On my 4 planners:

My planner came from Target and you can check it out here.

I keep track of all of my meetings in Google calendar, I also have a wall calendar at work, a witchy calendar for pagan things (because seasons and dates are important in pagan religions), I also keep a bullet journal and then a general comprehensive planner that EVERYTHING goes into eventually. Sometimes it goes in in detail, sometimes in summary, but everything is color-coded and sticker filled and that is the planner I will be talking about today!

My Obsession with Office Supplies

I got my rose gold desk set from Aldi as part of their AldiFinds.

Okay. I have the worst obsession with office supplies, especially cute and unique things that I find! So, this makes my planners highly color coded and full of stickers, washi tape, clips, and sticky notes. This is mainly because I figured out early in college that I am very much a visual person. It’s easier for me to process my planner when it’s color-coded and I’m more likely to plan and be excited about it if it’s “pretty.” My planner is a creative outlet for me and matches the rest of my office supplies which are rose gold, my current color obsession! (It also all matches this blog.)

Key

I do my key similar to a bullet journal and treat my planner as a pre-sectioned bullet journal. I have icons that go beside things and my notes pages are filled with lists and ideas. That’s a majority of the reason why I love planners with lots and lots of note pages and stickers!

Month View

I love the month views because it helps me see everything at a glance. Again, I’m a visual person so I like planners that have year, month, and week views. That’s also part of the reason everything gets copied into Google calendar because it’s so easy to look quickly at when I have free time in the digital format.

Week View

This is my favorite view and usually the most decorated! I put stickers here, quotes, and of course meetings and to-do. I like to put my general to-do list on a large sticky note, one so that I can use it as a bookmark and two because I can move it week by week if I haven’t gotten something done.

I also use sticky notes to make quick notes when I think of something for a blog post, that way when I flip to the post date all my notes are in one place and if I have to move the post for whatever reason the notes come with me!

Notes

This is my main “dashboard” at the beginning of my planner on the inside of the front cover. Most of my shopping lists and meal planning go here for easy access.

I love my note pages, they are sectioned off with sticky note tabs and I make MOST of my notes on sticky notes for the same reason as the sticky notes I use on the week pages. I can move things around and change things out so I don’t find out half way through the year I’ve used all my note pages for TBR lists and don’t have enough room for movie trackers! I have a lot more things like this in my bullet journal, but this is a majority of things that I use daily or ideas that come to me while I’m at work so I can come back to them later.

Books Page

This is the page that I write down books that someone recommends to me, or I see on social media, or I otherwise come across in my day that sound interesting to me. Every bookworm should have this page because there have been so many times where someone mentions a book to me and I can’t remember the name later!

Blog Page

This is mostly ideas for posts that come to me while at work, or when I’m somewhere where I can’t really give them my full planning attention. It’s also notes and todos for blog related things that I feel I might forget.

Financial Page

I don’t have a picture for this one because it’s a little personal, but a lot of it is bill reminder stickies and goals of things I’m saving up for!

Movie and TV tracker

This is like the book page. It’s TV shows and movies that are recommended to me throughout my day that I want to check out when I have a spare moment!

How do you set up your planner? Let me know in the comments what you’d like to see more of in my February planner post!

XOXO~B

oooooh I love planner posts, and yours is especially gorgeous ? at the moment I just have a bullet journal and a brain dump notebook (plus Google calendar and Google Keep), though I’m thinking of switching into a traveler’s notebook because I like keeping the different sections (calendar/daily to-dos/collections/trackers) somewhat separated. besides, you can never collect too much stationery! ?????✏

Thank you! When my planner looks pretty I feel more productive lol On the stationary, I literally cannot walk into micheals, target, or staples without buying something now ?

Why is everyone so much more organized than me? Though I love that I’m not alone in loving to buy stationary and office supplies lol

It takes practice to find what works. It took me all 4 years of college and somedays I still dont know what works for me!

I mean counts planners I have erm 3 which I use for different things, one’s a bujo, one is a week view planner and the other is a day view planner/diary. I may do a post on this at some point since I’ve been testing this method out and so far, it’s been helping using the day view diary to track my daily tasks.

Also..stationary is life Brigid ok. We always have more space for stationary, always (I bought another sticky note set yesterday when I’ve not even finished the current one sooooo – always space 😉 )
