Fall Festival Book Tag | Bookending Autumn 2019

Hi Dreamers!
Day 2 here we go!
Bookend events were created by Sam @ FictionallySam and Clo @ cuppaclo cuppaclo.wordpress.com. (Two great bloggers and you should check them out!) They host these quarterly events to bring our book blogging community a little closer. They have hosts and prompts and even Twitter chats! (See full explanation post here.)
Today’s prompt is by the lovely Danielle @ PoetryBooksYA! It’s a photo tag for books in fall colors!
Prompt:
Using fall colors (red, orange, black, white, green) and books you have read or want to read during the fall.
Chilly – Book with a white cover (sad plot line/setting)
Sweet – Book with an orange cover (favorite contemporary novel)
Spicy – Book with a red cover (action/fast-paced setting)
Dark – Book with a black or dark cover (dark, twisted theme)
Green – Book with a green cover that makes you feel jealous
My Books:
I went with the colors and instead of do the emotions I tried to stick to a spooky/monsters/Halloween feel. Here we go!
Chilly- A book with a white cover

I did my Buffy Book for this one because vampires! Also, the cover is covered in blood and creepy red candles. I adore Buffy the Vampire Slayer and this book was given to me by the Xander to my Willow who found it in a thrift shop. Perfect Halloween vibes!
[Honestly, took me forever to track it down, but pick it up on Amazon, here.]
Sweet- Book with an orange cover

This book is technically tan, but I don’t own a lot of orange books and I wanted to include this one. If you’ve never seen Stephan King’s Rose Red and you like horror… then grab this link and go watch it! It was a mini series that they turned into a movie, and it’s my favorite horror movie of all time. The Diary of Ellen Rimbauer goes with it. It’s a prequel to the movie and again this book was found at a yard sale or thrift shop and was gifted to me (I honestly have a bunch of obscure books like this). It seems the book also has a short movie made about it.
Spicy- Book with a red cover

Stranger Things always makes me think of Halloween! I’m absolutely obsessed (and season 4 just got announced!) I got this book as a Christmas gift and it’s full of trivia and Easter eggs. If you love Stranger Things or want to know more about the 80’s Easter eggs and references you should pick this book up! (Each chapter also has a trivia quiz from the show so you can beat your friends!)
Dark- Book with a black cover

So fallen angels aren’t really Halloween, but they’re paranormal and this whole series reminds me of fall. I revisit these every once in a while because they are so good and honestly, they should have been in my cozy books list yesterday because they are great to curl up with.
Green- Book with a green cover

Disclaimer 6/18/20: I no longer support or endorse J.K. Rowling due to her harmful actions and behaviors specifically towards the transgender community. I’m taking links that may support her off my site and am just leaving content. Some content will be removed as I see fit.
A classic! I’m a witch and it’s Haloween so got to include the witches and my childhood. I think I went Trick-or-Treating as Hermione 3 years running.
You’re officially tagged! Tell me what books you would choose? Would you do it by color as I did, go by the emotions, or challenge yourself and do both?

October 2, 2019 at 2:37 pmThat one is unofficial, but was included in the Target collection after the first season. I do believe they have an official behind the scenes guide now but I haven’t read it. Notes from the Upside Down is really cute though

October 5, 2019 at 9:48 pm[…] Red is my favorite horror movie, as I’ve said before. I don’t know if I’d want to be in this scary haunted house, but I definitely want to […]
