Hi all! We’re more than halfway through December and only ten days left of blogmas! I’m honestly going to miss blogging every day, but I’m leaving for Florida on the 24th and will probably be taking a blogging break until the new year, with the exception of a few pre-scheduled posts that will go up. (but they probably won’t get too far on social media so make sure you’re following this blog either on WordPress, Bloglovin‘, or by email!) 

Today I thought I’d tell you my favorite ornaments on Josie’s and my first Christmas tree together! For those who don’t know my girlfriend, Josie and I were long distance for six years and this is our first Christmas together since I moved in with her in July! (More about this later in the month.) 

So, this is our first Christmas tree together and our first time sharing our traditions with each other and I’m so excited. So without further ado, here are my favorite ornaments on our Christmas tree this year! 

Eleven from Stranger Things

So, I LOVE Stranger Things. And I LOVE Eleven from Stranger Things. So naturally this little ornament we found at Target is one of my favorite ones. It was also my first ornament for the new apartment that I hadn’t brought with me!

Josie’s Christmas Butterflies

These are so pretty! There’s this gold one and a red flannel one and I think they’re so festive. Butterflies have become my thing since high school, so when Josie pulled these out of the Christmas box I loved them instantly! 

Minnie Mouse

I forget who gave me this, but our tree growing up was always covered in Disney things. So, I’m starting my own collection of Disney ornaments now in my adult life (though I’m probably going to slowly inherit my family’s Disney ornaments, too until I need a whole separate tree!)

My Ballet Slippers

These were given to me by my grandmother at my first dance recital when I was three. When it’s not Christmas they hang net to my bookshelf in my office because they mean so much to me. 

The Nutcracker Mouse King

We’ve talked about my love for the Nutcracker this month and how important it was to me as a kid. So, my dad got me these when I was six. There’s this one which is the mouse king peaking out of the tree, and I have another of the prince and Clare dancing on ice, but the string broke off years ago so now it sits with my snowglobes. 

Rey

This little ornament was given to Josie when she first got our adorable kitten, Rey. It’s accurate because this is how she lays on my laptop when I’m trying to blog!

The MCLA Bear and Wisconsin Reindeer

My Mom found this little bear for me last year which is a miracle because no one has ever heard of the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts except apparently some random seller at a craft fair that she worked! She had to get the hand painted ornament for me and he pairs perfectly with Josie’s UW Wisconsin Reindeer. 

Our First Christmas

This is by far my favorite ornament on our tree. We got it at the Hallmark store after having a conversation about snowbirds, so we had to get this one. It’s classy and sparkly just like us and it’s front and center on our first Christmas tree!
