Whenever I scroll through my Twitter or Pinterest I always get a lot of cute graphics about #BookwormProblems. (Now, I consider myself a Book Dragon, but that is completely beside the point.) Today I’m going to tell you some of my favorite (and relatable) #BookwormProblems.
Not enough shelf space
My biggest issue as a bookworm has always been lack of shelf space! I’m 23, I live in a tiny apartment, my partner and I are BOTH bookworms… THERE WILL NEVER BE ENOUGH SHELF SPACE.
Not being able to read the books you WANT to read because you have books you HAVE to read.
This was particularly accurate when I was in school. I never wanted to read the books I had to for class, but I found some stuff I really liked that I never would have picked up on my own (especially in college! Roxane Gay is amazing go check her out!)
Waiting for new books in a series to come out.
Currently, I’m waiting for the next Kingdom Keepers book which is set to release in Summer 2019 and I’m SO EXCITED! (This also goes for screen adaptations of books… looking at you Game of Thrones.)
The TBR pile.
Every reader has a never ending To Be Read pile. Even if it’s not a physical pile… there’s a list-somewhere- of books you plan on reading and have not gotten to. And as you buy new books and new books get released it grows faster then you can read them… then we go back to the bookshelf and it’s lack of space.
(To find out what’s in my TBR pile check out my post here.)
No one understands when you cry about fictional characters.
Look, I grew up in a reading family… most people in my close friends and family group comfort me when my favorite character dies (or in the case of my mom tease me with fake spoilers of my favorite character dying so I have anxiety for the entire book!) The real world… doesn’t get it. If I have to hear, “But it’s just a book character, they aren’t real…” one more time I will put you in my book… as the villain!
People interrupting you while you’re reading.
Again, most people do not understand readers. So, if I’m reading and you try to get my attention for something stupid because I’m “not doing anything important” I would kindly ask you to GET LOST. This is my me time, and it’s very important.
“What’s you favorite book?”
I have approximately 1,000 favorite books. I’m MADE of books. I don’t think either of us have the time for me to sit here and list them all.
(Although my ALL TIME favorite book is Perks of Being a Wallflower, but it’s very close to other favorite books and I don’t like to play favorites with my children.)
