Hi Dreamers!

I’m back from hiatus just in time to do a crash course Bookending Summer! First off thank you guys for being so kind over my break it means the world that I can take some decompression time in my personal life without my blog suffering.

Now onto the bookiness!

Bookend events were created by Sam @ FictionallySam and Clo @ BookDragons. (Two great bloggers and you should check them out!) They host these quarterly events to bring our book blogging community a little closer. They have hosts and prompts and even a tidyathon! (See full explanation post here.) 

Today I’m doing the prompt from July 3rd from Charvi @ It’s Not Just Fiction.

The Prompt:

BOOKCATION

You’re off to the beach for a nice time and you can take 10 other fictional characters with you. Whom would you choose and why?

1. Lassiter from the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series

I know you’re all sick of my Black Dagger Brotherhood talk, but I will have some new reviews up soon now that I’m finally caught up. So look out for that. But I had to pick a character from it considering it’s all I’ve been reading since New Years (hello 20+ book series). My first instinct was to pick Blay and Quinn because they are my favs! But they would burn in the sun so it would significantly limit summer vacation ideas. (We’ll go on a cozy winter retreat I promise). But Lassiter… he’d be so much fun! He’d wear something very neon or animal print and bring all the booze! I’m sure he’d also be great at dancing! I’d take Lassiter on a cruise.

2. Katniss from The Hunger Games

I know this is a weird one, but hear me out. I feel like Katniss would push you out of your comfort zone on an adventure trip. I’m thinking ziplining, white water rafting, etc. All the things I’ve always wanted to do but was too scared. I think Katniss would be able to convince me to do them.

3. The Kingdom Keepers from The Kingdom Keepers

Josie says it’s cheating to count these teens as five different characters, so I guess I’ll play fair. These kids know the Disney Parks inside and out and it’s not exactly a secret that Disney vacations are my favorite vacations. Also, they know Minnie Mouse. Can I get a hook-up?

4. Zoey Redbird from the House of Night Series

As a witch, I really like how the rituals in The House of Night books follow some pagan traditions as does Zoey’s grandmother. I feel like Zoey and I could go on a nice spiritual retreat together.

5 &6. Dani and Carmen from We Set the Dark on Fire

Could I do a list like this without my favorite literary queer girls? Didn’t think so! I’d like to go on a couples’ retreat Me, Josie, Dani, and Carmen. That would be so much fun and I feel like Carmen could pull you into so many adventures your head would spin.

7, 8, & 9 Schuyler, Mimi, and Bliss from the Blue Bloods Series

I’ve said my piece on why Blue Bloods isn’t my favorite series, but I really like these ladies as characters. They’re strong and fun and with all that money? we’d be able to go anywhere! Oh, and with immortality, I bet they have the best stories.

10. Dane from the Wild Magic Series

I love Dane. I had the biggest crush on Dane when I was 13. I’d love to go to her world and vacation in Tortall. We could go camping and meditate together and go on adventures.
