Hi Dreamers! It’s my birthday!

I’ve been so excited to do this tag I found over on The Book Duchessess all year! I want this to be a more laid back post because after this I’m curling up with some wine and Netflix, so it won’t have my normal amount of links and pictures, but if you guys like this format let me know.

Birthday Cake – a book with a plot that seems cliche but you adore it anyway

Haha, any of the young adult novels I read! I have a guilty pleasure with cliche vampire dramas that I’m sure you are all aware of by now. I guess the most cliched that I’ve heard people say they hated before was The House of Night series. I absolutely love them, but I know a lot of people didn’t.

Party Guests – your most anticipated book release this year

Mine was We Set the Dark on Fire and Tehlor Kay Mejia delivered on that one!

Birthday Presents – a book that surprised you with how much you loved it

Fahrenheit 451 when I read it in high school. I never expected to like required reading and that was the first of a long line of required books that I adored. And it was also my favorite book I read for school ever!

The Happy Birthday Song – a book that certainly deserved all the hype it got

Going back to We Set the Dark on Fire. So, so, so good and I can not wait for the second one! Read my review here for reasons why the hype was warranted.

Happy Music – a book with some very beautiful and truly memorable quotes

My favorite book quote ever is “and in that moment we were infinite.” from The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Haven’t found something that beats that feeling yet.

Getting Older – a book that you read a long time ago, but you think you would appreciate it more if you read it as a more mature reader

I think I would appreciated Stargirl more as an adult. I appreciated it a lot as a kind, but being an adult and knowing I am my own type of Stargirl would probably make me see things in a new way.

Sweet Birthday Memories – a book that kept you incredibly happy during a sad or demanding period of your life 

The whole Black Dagger Brother Series has been getting me through this year. It’s been a rough year guys and books in general have been a huge escape, but mostly The Black Dagger Brotherhood books.

So this year it’s my golden birthday! I turned 24 on the 24th. How fitting is it that my birthday is exactly a week before Halloween? My coworkers decorated my cubicle and got me pizza and Josie is perfect with her many little surprises as always! So in short, I had the best birthday.
